Russell is of South African heritage and came to Home Inspections in 2000 from a background in Construction, Appraisal and Property Development. Completing an Apprenticeship as a Carpenter in 1978 and passed the final exam for acceptance in South Africa as an appraiser in 1986. These Appraisals were for Residential and Commercial Property including Mining, Agricultural and Heavy Industry. Property Development encompassed the Building of Residential Property, Gas Stations and Supermarkets. An active member of the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians (ASTTBC), registered as a Building and Architectual Professional with a Certified Technician (CTech), Certified Property Inspector (CPI), Registered Reserve Fund Analyst (RRFA) and licensed by Consumer Protection as a Home Inspector (License #: 47837) and past member of the Institute of Valuers of South Africa and South African Council of Valuers.

Hello, I’m Ali! I started my career in the construction industry over 25 years ago, where I gained invaluable hands-on experience and developed a solid understanding of building structures along with the various components attached. My shift to rope access work allowed me to further refine my skills and effectively operate at heights, utilizing specialized techniques for detailed maintenance and accurate inspections in challenging locations. This line of work has taken me from places like; the Canada Place sails, BC Place rooftop, bridges, all the way to Fort Macmurry to work in the electrical heat trace maintenance department, and even unique projects like installing and maintaining large public art pieces in Vancouver. This extensive experience naturally led me to focus on building maintenance, where I applied my construction knowledge and rope access skills to ensure the safety, durability, and overall functionality of different structures. My diverse experiences throughout the years, have developed a passion and skill set that enhances my role in home inspections. (License #: 87879)

Chad is a Technical Specialist registered with Applied Science and Technologists and Technicians of B.C. (ASTTBC) as a Certified Home Inspector (License #: 75629). Chad is working towards his CTech designation with ASTTBC and has been a Victoria home inspector since 2016 and joined HomeCheck in 2018.

Joey is a Technical Specialist registered with Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia (ASTTBC) as a Certified Home Inspector (License #: 81375) and is working towards his ASCT designation. Joey has a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology (Camosun College, 2009) and a background in Civil, Commercial and Residential construction. His solutions-based approach to Home Inspection is grounded in a practical understanding of the fundamentals of Building Science and the need to communicate effectively, often to a non-technical audience. As Joey puts it, “I will make sure that you know what I know about the property, in plain language that you can understand”. Joey has been on Vancouver Island his whole life and is currently living in the Cowichan Valley where he is the newest member of the HomeCheck team, all of whom serve Central and South Vancouver Island including the West Coast and the Gulf Islands.

Eric is a Technical Specialist registered with Applied Science and Technologists and Technicians of B.C. (ASTTBC) as a Certified Home Inspector (License #: 67228). Eric is working towards his CTech designation with ASTTBC and has been with HomeCheck since 2012. Eric has a background in Construction (Eric and Russell worked together in Construction in the 1970’s). As a successful Fisherman in the 1980’s/1990’s with all of the business, survival and communication skills acquired. Eric has been married for many years and has children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. As a result he has grey hair and is easy to relate to.
